Germantown was the scene of a barricade situation that lasted from Saturday evening, until Sunday morning, as officials say two officers and the suspect were struck by gunfire during the standoff.

According to officials, the original call came for a person with a gun.

A warrant was issued for a 65-year-old man in regard to a sexual assault investigation. The man will be charged in that case, but officers were not at the address to serve a warrant.

A little before 5 p.m., 39th District officers were called to the 400 block of West Bringhurst Street, and someone inside the residence - possibly a family member - let the officers in. At that point, officers were fired upon. They got everyone out of the building and waited for SWAT.

A 14-hour barricade followed. A hostage negotiator made contact with the man, who insisted he was not leaving the premises, according to authorities.
