What we know:
Officers from the Wilmington Police Department were called to a home on the 4100 block of North West Street on May 30th for reports of a burglary.
Jahmier Snow, a truck driver, returned to his rental home last Friday to find his front door glass shattered and his home ransacked.
Among the stolen items was his two-year-old French Bulldog, Tooty, whom he considers his most prized possession.
Snow often takes Tooty to work with him, but had left her at home for a rest that night.
Police say Tooty, a female French bulldog, was taken during a burglary in Wilmington.
The Wilmington Police Department shared photos on Tuesday of Tooty in hopes that someone would recognize her.
What they're saying:
Snow expressed his anguish over the loss: "I feel like someone kidnapped my child. That was my reaction. I was angry." He described Tooty as his companion during long work hours: "She's like my sidekick, she's my companion. As a truck driver, you get lonely, so you need a buddy or pal or someone that gives you comfort in that truck when you're working 14 hours a day."
The burglary also resulted in the theft of valuable electronics and personal documents.
"I had a $2,300 MacBook laptop, it's gone. Sony a6600, it was $1,800, gone. My Apple Watch, all my electronics. All of my jeans, my underwear—he stole my underwear," Snow recounted.
Snow is focused on the safe return of Tooty.
"Hopefully she's returned home safe to me or someone sees her and gives up a tip. I don't care about the clothes, the shoes, or the belongings. That doesn't matter to me. I just want my dog back.," he said.
