UPPER MERION, Pa. - A local officer is being praised for his "proactive police work" that led to the arrest of a suspected criminal wanted in two Pennsylvania counties.

A man was found walking around Gulph Elementary School by an Upper Merion officer who was conducting an extra patrol last week.
Police say he was loitering around the closed school after hours, around 2 in the morning.

The man's identity was checked during a pedestrian stop, which revealed the 57-year-old from Philadelphia had two active criminal warrants.
One warrant was for the aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer in Philadelphia. The other was for terroristic threats in Lower Merion.
"Excellent proactive police work by this "B" Nights officer in locating a wanted repeat offender!" Upper Merion police said.
