Community urged to assist in investigation

The Mount Laurel Police Department encouraged residents to remain vigilant and report any information that could aid in identifying the suspect vehicle or the driver involved in the crash in a post on Facebook

"We are just hoping that we get assistance from the public in locating this vehicle," said Lt. Thomas Corsanico of the Mount Laurel Police Department.

He added that the vehicle might have damage to the undercarriage, front bumper, and front passenger side.

Victim's family speaks out

What they're saying:

Caprio's mother, Michele, is devastated by the loss.

"When I heard that - that's when I lost it," she said.

She recalls celebrating a belated Christmas with her son earlier that day.

Anthony Caprio had recently purchased and fixed up the e-bike he was riding.

His mother, Michele, had pleaded with him not to travel on busy roads.

"He didn't have a helmet," she said. "What are you gonna do with someone almost 50 years old… he's a grown man."

Now, Caprio's family and friends, along with the police, are urging the driver to come forward.

"Please come forward, it means a lot to find out who did this," Michele said. Police are determined to identify the driver.

"It would be in their best interest to come forward sooner than later," said Corsanico.

What we don't know:

The identity of the driver and the whereabouts of the suspect's vehicle remain unknown.

Police continue to gather evidence and follow leads in hopes of resolving the case.
