A Pennsylvania man is facing charges after authorities say used candy to try to lure a young boy to his car at a New Jersey Wawa.

Thomas Cannon, 79, was arrested Thursday and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, according to the Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae.

It's alleged that on May 28, Cannon was at a Wawa in Maurice River Township when he tried to entice a 7-year-old boy to come to his vehicle with him by offering him candy.

Cannon, a Camp Hill, Pennsylvania resident, is also accused of grabbing the child's arm during the incident. The boy was able to escape and return to his family unharmed.
