Ring doorbell footage captured the sounds of gunfire go off on a street in Wilmington where police say a 17-year-old boy was killed Monday afternoon.

An investigation is underway after police say a shooting occurred in Wilmington on Labor Day.

What we know:

According to Wilmington police, a shooting occurred Monday at around 1:20 p.m. on the 1200 block of Sycamore Street.

Upon arrival at the scene, police found a 17-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, but later succumbed to his injuries.

Doorbell video provided to FOX 29 shows a barrage of gunfire at the time of the incident.

What they're saying:

"It’s crazy. My bed is right there" a neighbor said, pointing to her second floor bedroom window just feet away from where the shots were fired.

She says she was in bed watching TV and hit the floor when more than 20 shots were fired outside her window.

"It sounded like M-80’s going off. But even my mom said it was fireworks. But it wasn’t fireworks" she said.

Witnesses say two groups of people started shooting at each other up and down the block.

Bullets hit multiple cars and homes on the block.

"I'm ready to move" said Claudia from Sycamore Street.

She had walked into her home after returning from the grocery store when tire was struck by gunfire.

She’s lived in the block for 46  years and has never seen anything like this.

"I froze when I heard it and then I heard it was rapid fire and I thought it was fireworks. Then it slowed down and knew it wasn’t fireworks" Claudia added.

What's next:

In addition to this fatal shooting, Wilmington police are also investigating the double shooting about an hour and a half earlier where an 18 year old and 24-year-old men were both found with gunshot wounds on the 200 block of South Harrison Street.

Police have not said if the two shootings are connected.
