Two visitors fall to their deaths from Taft Point in Yosemite National Park
A man and woman died in an apparent fall from Taft Point in Yosemite National Park, authorities said on Thursday.
Rangers recovered their bodies Thursday morning. The elevation of Taft Point is 7,500 feet.
The deaths are under investigation and no further details are available.
In September, an Israeli teen, 18-year-old Tomer Frankfurter, died when he slipped and fell off a cliff while taking a selfie at Yosemite.
In May, a hiker died while climbing the Half Dome peak and in June, two climbers died while trying to scale El Capitan.
Taft Point is also where world-famous wingsuit flier Dean Potter and his partner, Graham Hunt, died after leaping from the cliff in 2015. The pair experienced at flying in wingsuits - the most extreme form of BASE jumping - crashed after attempting to clear a V-shaped notch in a ridgeline.
Taft Point is also where a photographer captured a photo a groom proposing to his bride earlier this month.
