2 officers injured after driver strikes police cruiser in Mayfair

Two officers were injured overnight after a driver slammed into their police cruiser in Mayfair.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. on the 4100 block of Magee Avenue.

Police say a driver traveling southbound on Charles Avenue in a silver Lincoln failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a police cruiser traveling westbound on Magee Avenue.

The officers were transported to Temple University Hospital with minor injuries. One officer complained of a neck injury, while the other complained of a back injury. Both are expected to be okay.

There were no injuries to the driver, who was apprehended for a suspected DUI.
