Antonio Brown, a former NFL star receiver, was arrested on an attempted murder charge connected to a shooting following a celebrity boxing event in Miami.
Brown was extradited from Dubai to the United States on Thursday to face trial on the charge, FOX News reported, citing the Miami Police Department.

Antonio Brown reportedly was involved in a shooting incident after a celebrity boxing event on May 16.
According to an arrest warrant obtained by the Associated Press, Brown allegedly grabbed a gun from a security staff member after the match and fired two shots at a man he got into a fight with earlier. Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, the victim, told authorities one of the bullets fired grazed his neck.

FOX News reported that several videos posted on social media appeared to show Brown getting into a fight with multiple individuals at the May event. One video apparently features the former NFL receiver fighting in a parking lot as a crowd headed to an alley and when a gunshot reportedly was fired, people started to run.
The AP reported that a second-degree attempted murder charge carries a maximum 15-year prison sentence and up to a $10,000 fine if there is a conviction.

The former NFL star has dealt with multiple legal issues before. Antonio Brown was sued in 2019 over allegations of rape and sexual misconduct, which he eventually settled with his accuser, according to FOX News.

Brown also pleaded no contest to felony battery and burglary charges in June 2020. Brown was arrested again in 2023 over allegations of unpaid child support.

Antonio Brown was an All-Pro wide receiver and played 12 years in the NFL.
Brown spent most of his pro career with the Pittsburgh Steelers and last played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021, where during a game that season against the New York Jets, Brown removed his jersey, shoulder pads and gloves and ran off the field.
The Bucs later released Brown, which was the last time he played in the league. During his career, Brown had 928 receptions for over 12,000 yards and 83 touchdowns.
