Attorneys: 3 Philadelphia hotels knowingly hosted sex trafficking

PHILADELPHIA (FOX 29) - Attorneys say that two girls were held captive as sex slaves at three Philadelphia hotels more than 5 years ago while owners and management knowingly ignored the trafficking.

The girls, ages 15 and 16 at the time, allege that they were forced into prostitution by two different traffickers for several months before being freed following raids by the FBI and police.

Lawsuits filed by on the girl's behalf say they were taken to the hotels, drugged and forced to have sex with customers. Cash for a room was paid to employees who knew about the prostitution.

The hotels in the middle of this controversy are the Roosevelt Inn and Days Inn, located on Roosevelt Boulevard, and the North American Motors Inn on City Avenue.

A year ago, attorneys filed a lawsuit against the owner and operator of the Roosevelt in that alleged a 14-year-old girl was forced into sex trafficking on the premises in 2013.

"If there are young girls being brought in by men. If there is a rotation of men coming in and out of these hotels, who could claim they're surprised that prostitution is going on? How does anybody say that with a straight face," said attorney Nadeem Bezar.

FOX 29 reached out to each hotel for comment, but all declined.
