Bensalem police warn of phone scam involving police impersonators

BENSALEM, Pa. (FOX 29) - Bensalem police are urging residents to remain vigilant after the department received complaints of a phone scam.

Police say the scammers identify themselves as officers and threaten to arrest the victim if they do not provide money. The targets are instructed to either pay the fake officer directly or issue payment to a financial company.

Authorities say any resident who receives a call like this should not give out any personal information and should contact the Bensalem Police Department at 215-633-3719.
