Family escapes North Philadelphia house fire after candle knocked over

NORTH PHILADELPHIA - A family is lucky to be alive after a fire ripped through their North Philadelphia home overnight.
The fire broke out on the 2500 block of West Dakota Street around 3 a.m. Wednesday.
A candle fell behind the bed while the family was sleeping, Carlton Copeland told FOX 29.

The Red Cross is helping the displaced family in the wake of the fire.
No injuries were reported.
