Loaded revolver found in carry-on bag at Philadelphia International Airport: TSA

A Pennsylvania man is facing charges after a loaded revolver was found in his carry-on bag by TSA agents at Philadelphia International Airport.

The disturbing discovery was made on Monday when an x-ray security checkpoint alerted agents of a gun detected a carry-on bag.

Agents found a .38 caliber revolver loaded with six bullets and nine additional rounds of ammunition.

Philadelphia police responded to the checkpoint and arrested the West Chester man on a weapons charge. He will likely also face a "stiff" financial penalty.

It's the 38th firearm intercepted by the TSA this year at Philadelphia International Airport, which is seven fewer than were detected all of last year.

"It is disappointing to continue to see travelers bring their firearms to our checkpoints," TSA’s Federal Security Director Gerardo Spero said.
