Man shot, killed by officer on I-95 ramp near Philadelphia airport: police

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police say a man and an officer were waiting for an ambulance when a fight erupted and ended with a deadly officer-involved shooting.
What we know:
An officer assigned to the department's Airport Unit found a 36-year-old man on the I-95 South ramp near the Philadelphia International Airport around 1 a.m. Monday.
The man said he was stabbed, so the officer called for an ambulance and back up.
While waiting for assistance, police say a fight ensued between the man and the officer, who unsuccessfully attempted to use his Taser twice.
A responding officer then fired multiple times, hitting the man, according to authorities. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no injuries to either officer.

The 53-year-old officer who fired the fatal shots has been placed on administrative duty pending an investigation.
