Man shot twice overnight may have been chased

FAIRHILL (WTXF/AP) - A man was shot in his back and leg, overnight, but he's expected to be OK.

It happened just after 2am Thursday in the Fairhill area, which is on the east side of North Philadelphia.

We're told the 54-year-old victim was shot in the back and leg along the 2800 block of N. American Street.

Police officers took him to the hospital and he's in critical condition after surgery.

Police believe the gunman was chasing the victim.
