Philadelphia weather: Friday to see brief reprieve ahead of snow for Eagles game
PHILADELPHIA - Thursday's snow was scattered in nature, though some saw at least an inch fall at their homes. It made rush hour tricky, in some spots.
Whatever snow has fallen will freeze as overnight lows drop into the mid to lower 20s during the night. Another small batch of light snow may fall in the evening before we head into Friday.
Seasonal temperatures in the 40s and sunshine is ahead on Friday, but it's only a brief reprieve before snow arrives during Sunday's Eagles game.
Timeline:
Saturday will start cloudy as light showers fall during the afternoon.
More snow arrives, just in time for the Eagles to take on the Los Angeles Rams at the Linc.
If you’re tailgating, you will be fine, but dress warmly, as snow arrives by kick-off and may last throughout the entire game, bringing a light accumulation.
So far, the area might see a couple of inches. After the snow falls, the region is in for a rude and very cold awakening, as the coldest temperatures in over two years envelops us.
What's next:
Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, will be sunny with highs only reaching around 25 degrees in Philadelphia and surrounding areas, while lows drop to the single digits.
Tuesday’s high is forecasted at 19, while the low into Wednesday morning is 7 degrees.
The cold weather pattern will continue on Wednesday with highs in the upper teens and even Thursday will see a high around 30, with lows in the single digits.
