Wildfire burning in Burlington, Camden counties
A wildfire burning in Burlington and Camden counties is 40 percent contained with roads closed and a campground evacuated.
HAMMONTON, N.J. - Forest fire crews battling a wildfire at Wharton State Forest in South Jersey have fully contained the blaze after nearly 24 hours.
The County Line Wildfire burned near Waterford Township in Camden County and Shamong Township in Burlington County. The fire started around 10 a.m.
Officials say it covered around 510 acres, and was 100 percent contained as of 8 a.m.
Jackson Road was shut down from Tremont Avenue to Atsion Road on Wednesday, but has since reopened.
The Goshen Campground was evacuated and will remain closed through Sunday.
Burnt Mill Trail, Goshen Pond Trail and the Sleeper Creek Trail were also closed, and will reopen after conditions are assessed.
