2 officers hurt in crash on I-95, accident snarls traffic on I-76

Crews are responding to the scene of a crash on I-95 in Philadelphia that may have involved a police cruiser.

The crash occurred around 9:45 a.m. near the Columbus Boulevard and Washington Avenue exits.

Police say a police vehicle spun out and struck the guard rail. Two officers were in the car at the time of the crash and were conscious and talking. They were transported to Hahnemann Hospital.

PennDOT cameras were rolling as more officers responded to the scene and began closing lanes.

The southbound lanes in the area of the crash were temporarily closed, according to FOX 29's Bob Kelly.

Crews are also responding to a crash on I-76 northbound near Ridge Avenue. The crash occurred on an elevated portion of the highway where the roadway is more prone to freezing over.
