TAMPA, Fla. (FOX 13) - A recall has been issued for 78,164 pounds of Butterball's raw ground turkey products over salmonella concerns.

The ground turkey also has the establishment number, "EST. P-7345" inside the USDA mark of inspection. Regulators said the meat would be tainted with Salmonella schwarzengrund after a recent outbreak sicked five people from two states. In Wisconsin, three Butterball ground turkey samples were taken from a home where four of the patients resided.
"The case-patients and ground turkey Salmonella Schwarzengrund isolates are closely related, genetically," according to the USDA notice. "FSIS is concerned that some product may be frozen and in consumers' freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase."
