Camden City Schools to close early Monday due to heat
CAMDEN, N.J. (WTXF) - The heat is on for Monday, with a heat advisory in effect and air quality alerts issued for the region.
Monday has the potential to tie 1957's record high of 96 degrees and a heat index of 105 degrees.
Heat in the central plains is expected to move east, with temperatures that will likely feel oppressive.
Due to the hot temperatures, the Camden City School District in New Jersey will be dismiss students early. Schools will close at 1 p.m.
Monday is forecasted to be hazy, hot and humid. Officials urge residents to take precautions in the hot temperatures, such as exercising early in the morning or late in the day and drinking plenty of water.
