Campus shooting reported at University of Utah

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (KSAZ) -- Officials with the University of Utah have asked their students to secure in place, after a shooting was reported on campus.

News of the emergency was released on the university's verified Twitter account Monday night, as well as on the university's Campus Alert page. While university officials have released few details on the shooting, they did describe the suspect as a 37-year-old black man, weighing 250 lbs, 6'3" tall, and was wearing a gray beanie, black pants, white shoes, and a white hoodie at the time of the incident.

The suspect was reportedly last seen on foot, heading north from an area of the university called the medical towers.
