Car slams into SC daycare; 4 children sent to hospital

COLUMBIA, S.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) -- At least four children were taken to the hospital after a car crashed into a South Carolina daycare, officials said.

According to Columbia police, a female driver crashed into one of the childcare rooms about 12:30 p.m. at Cadence Acaddemy Preschool, located at 450 Columbiana Drive. App users click here.

Officials said the children taken to the hospital were not seriously injured.

Other childre at teh daycare not affected by the crash were moved to an isolated location inside the facility byt staff, police said. Parents were in the process of picking up their children.

The driver of the car, who was not taken to the hospital, was being interviewed by police. A tow truck was in process of removing the wrecked car from inside the building.
