Christmas fire destroys 2 homes in Slaughter Beach, Del.

Authorities are investigating following an overnight fire in Slaughter Beach, Delaware that damaged several homes.

The blaze tore through multiple homes around 7 p.m. on the 300 block of Bay Avenue Christmas evening.

Firefighters battled through high winds to get the fire under control.

Officials say two homes were destroyed, with three other homes damaged by exposure. No injuries have been reported.

Heavy fire damage is expected to exceed $500,000, according to authorities.
