Crash involving trolley, 2 vehicles injures more than 30 in West Philadelphia
WEST PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities say a crash involving a trolley and a paratransit vehicle in Philadelphia resulted in injuries to more than 30 people, but the severity of injuries is unclear.
The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority says the crash happened shortly before 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in West Philadelphia.
SEPTA spokeswoman Heather Redfern says the CCT Connect vehicle collided with a passenger vehicle which then struck the SEPTA trolley, which was heading east toward Center City.
Redfern says injuries were reported to the driver and lone occupant of the paratransit vehicle, the driver of the other vehicle and a passenger, and the trolley operator and 27 passengers.
There was no initial word on the extent of injuries.
