Deputies: 15-year-old ran pot shop out of bedroom
DELHI, Calif. (FOX 13) - Deputies say a mother in Delhi, California allowed her 15-year-old daughter to operate a pot shop out of her bedroom.
Merced County deputies executed a marijuana cultivation search warrant Friday at the family's home. Police say they found packaged marijuana for sale and edibles in the girl's room.
They also found 80 pounds of pot in the master bedroom and 12 large marijuana plants in a makeshift green house.
A sign on the door of the teen's bedroom says "It's the law. You must be 15 years of age or older to purchase weed," with the words "15" and "weed" written in and the word "fireworks" scratched out.
Deputies also discovered a loaded AK-47 in the home.
The parents, identified as Jose Reyes Martinez, 44, and Norma Angelica Alvarezwere, 44, were arrested, and the 15-year-old and another juvenile were placed into protective custody.
