Domestic abuse had owner abandon puppy with note at airport

A three-month-old puppy was abandoned in the bathroom of a Las Vegas airport.

Her former owner simply left a handwritten note explaining how they were a victim of domestic abuse and couldn't afford to keep the puppy.

The note details how both its former owner and the puppy itself were victims of domestic abuse.

Please share in hopes that his mom sees this that she was brave to leave and that he will have a great life.

It reads: "Hi! I'm Chewy! My owner was in an abusive relationship and couldn't afford me to get on the flight. She didn't want to leave me with all her heart but she has NO other option. My ex-boyfriend kicked my dog when we were fighting and he has a big knot on his head. He probably needs a vet. I love Chewy sooo much - please love and take care of him."

We all love a happy ending.

A concerned passerby noticed Chewy and placed him in the care of a local animal facility.

According to a recent Facebook post, the organization is close to finding Chewy a new home.

Best of luck, Chewy!

There has been tremendous interest in little Chewy !!! 💜 we are compiling all the interest forms and will be going through them all. CMDR would like to say Thank you for all the offers of a loving home. However, there is but 1 Chewy and he can go but to 1 home. Please consider the hundreds if not thousands of "Chewys" loaded with love that are desperately seeking homes in shelters which are at max capacity, rescues are full! Please consider adopting another wonderful companion in his honor ! They too were a Chewy : they've lost their home through no fault of their own. Life is tenuous in a shelter, lonely and the days seem endless in a cage. It's the 4 th of July. The day the single worst day for shelter animals for lost or surrendered. Not everyone can have Chewy himself but they sure can save another just like him and gift that furbaby a life !
