Dying country music star shares heartwarming photo of embrace with daughter on hospital bed

One half of a country music married couple is spending her final days with her family after being diagnosed with stage four cervical cancer and documenting her journey.

Joey and Rory Feek make up the popular country duo Joey + Rory.

According to Buzzfeed, they started out as songwriters in Nashville and then began performing.

They've released four studio albums since 2008, and performed at the CMT Music Awards in 2009.

Last year, their daughter Indiana was born joining two older daughters who are Rory's stepchildren, according to Buzzfeed. She has Down syndrome.

Shortly after she was born, Joey was diagnosed with cervical cancer.

Joey decided to battle the disease without hesitation and has been undergoing treatment for the past year. Rory keeps a blog documenting his family's journey called This Life I Live.

He has also stopped writing songs in an effort to consistently update the blog. Among the stories he shares of his family, he also shares messages of hope.

The family has remained optimistic, receiving tons of support along the way.

However, they recently took a huge blow.

Rory revealed in an October blog post that Joey's doctors found two more tumors. Her cancer is now in stage four, and doctors have said that further treatment wouldn't do much to help her.

So the family decided to stop Joey's treatment and according to the blog entry, take her home "not to die, but to live.

In an entry posted on Monday, Rory wrote that Joey had been rushed to the hospital Friday night because she was in excruciating pain.

The family then made a tough decision to make Joey's final days a bit easier.

Rory explained, "Hospice is arranged and a hospital bed will be delivered later this morning.

"Joey is at peace with where she is and where she's going. So am I.

"An answer to prayer."

Rory also included in the post that Joey is spending the little time she has left with Indiana.

They shared a photo of their mother-daughter embrace on their blog and Instagram with thousands writing in and expressing their love and support.

Rory described the heartwarming moment: "Yesterday I sat her down in front of her mama and they smiled and played and loved each other the way that only mamas and their little ones can.

"Afterwards, when Indy got sleepy, Joey held her and sang "In The Garden" and other hymns as she softly stroked her silky-blonde hair.

"Perfect love filled that hospital room as we all held our breath and wiped our eyes."
