Fire at Wawa gas station in Philadelphia set by arson suspect: police

A man is facing a long list of charges after police say he is accused of setting a fire at a Wawa gas station.

PHILADELPHIA - An act of vandalism and arson at a Wawa in Philadelphia's Mayfair section is under investigation Tuesday morning.

Fire crews responded to reports of gas lines being set on fire on the 7000 block of Roosevelt Boulevard just before 1 a.m.

They arrived to a fire between the pumps, which were also damaged.

The fire was extinguished, and a 37-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene.

The Fire Marshall declared it arson.
