Girl, 16, wounded in shooting at Newark vigil dies from her injuries

Authorities say a teenage girl shot during a candlelight vigil last weekend has died from her injuries.

Essex County prosecutors say Jayla Green died Thursday but did not disclose further details.

The 16-year-old was among four young women shot Saturday at the vigil in Newark for two teens killed the previous day in the crash of a stolen vehicle. She was shot in the head, while the three other victims were shot in the legs.
