Good Samaritans and the power of social media helps sheep hit by car
Washington Crossing, Pa. (WTXF) - A sheep hit by a car is going to reunite with her owner thanks to Good Samaritans and the power of social media.
It is the last night of a two-night stay for a very special guest at the Upper Bucks Animal Shelter. Director Vanly Pierson is checking in on the lucky gitl who is about to check out. A female Saint Croix sheep otherwise known as a Virgin Island White.
The sheep was hit by a car Wednesday morning on Washington's Crossing Road north of Newtown.
She was picked up by county animal control with help from Upper Makefield police who promptly posted pictures on their Facebook page with the following, "Someone had a little lamb, who definitely lost its way." If you know who the owners are, let them know it's at the Bucks SPCA."
The internet did its magic and a friend of the owner saw the posts and made the connection.
The sheep-- which apparently was never given a name-- is still being nursed back to health but will now do so in the loving arms of her owner, thanks to Facebook.
"I mean social media nowadays is crazy! You put one thing on and it gets everywhere. People share a lot which is great," Vanly said.
