Local teen brings mom to prom for heartwarming reason

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - The reason why a local teen chose his own mother to bring to the prom will melt your heart.

"He came in the house after hanging with his friends and was like, 'So ma do you wanna go to my prom with me?' I said what made you ask me that? Fatima Faruq told FOX 29.

The answer was pretty simple and completely endearing coming from an 18-year-old high school senior.

"Because when I was 6 months old she didn't want to go to her prom because all the money she had she used it to buy her first apartment to take care of me," Nassir Al-Faruq said.

Nassir wasn't afraid to tell anyone that he was just grateful knowing his mom sacrificed for him.

"I said ever since you told me that story I got emotional inside and for years I've been thinking what is a way that I can bring my mom out," he said.

Last Saturday night,was the big night at the Tea Room in Philadelphia.

That's truly a special relationship between a mother and her son.
