Loudoun County woman impacted by shutdown wins $100K in Virginia lottery
ASHBURN, Va. (FOX 5 DC) - A woman from Ashburn whose husband is currently furloughed has something to smile about after winning $100,000 and a Ford Expedition.
"I cried. I couldn't believe it," Carrie Walls said.
Walls - who spent more than 13 years in the Air Force - told Virginia's Lottery she was already planning a trip to Disneyland with her family when she learned about the prize.
Walls' ticket was selected from more than 554,000 entries in the Dec. 4 drawing.
