Man accused of beating woman with shovel, running her over

The man police say beat a woman with a shovel and then ran her over is in custody, but no charges have been filed.

A few more details have been released. We know the brutal murder happened at about 8:30pm Sunday in Olney.

Police got a call about a person screaming in the 700 block of W. Louden Street.

They got there and found a man "standing over the victim, who was underneath a white 2012 Nissan Maxima. Preliminary reports reveal the male got a shovel and struck the unidentified female victim several times, and ran her over."

The victim -- who police said was possibly in her 30s -- was taken to the hospital where she later died.

Her name has not been released and we also don't know the name of the man in custody.

Also, there's no word of a motive behind this crime and police are looking into a possible relationship.
