Man threatening Wal-Mart customers shot, killed by police
EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - A man who burst into a Walmart last night with 2 handguns and a machete was been shot and killed by police.
It happened at a packed Walmart in East Stroudsburg, Monroe County in the Poconos, shortly after 10:00 p.m.
Pennsylvania State Police said Sunday that 20-year-old Andrew Joseph Todd, of Mount Bethel, Pennsylvania, was shot when he refused officers' orders to drop his weapon inside the Wal-Mart late Saturday.
At least 100 people were in the store when Todd began threatening customers, according to police.
Stroud Area Regional Police say, they ordered the man to drop his weapons. After he refused- officers fired at the man, striking him in the upper chest. Police then provided first aid, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
