Mother charged with faking daughter's cancer to collect donations

ENID, OK (WTXF)- An Oklahoma mother of four has reportedly turned herself into police after she allegedly lied about her daughter having cancer to raise money.

According to the Daily Mail, Jessica Lynn Good, 32, was arraigned on three felony counts of obtaining money or property by false pretense for charitable of benevolent purposes and one felony count of child abuse.

Police began investigating Good earlier this summer after receiving a tip from a local pastor suspecting the four-year-old girl was actually healthy.

The same pastor told authorities his church donated several thousand dollars to good over the past several years to help with her daughters medical expenses.

The pastor says he became suspicious when he realized Good's daughter was not acting like someone who was going through chemotherapy treatments.

Detectives later obtained the girl's medical records and found that none of the health issues Good had reported to donors were true.

Along wit the pastors and his church, a charity golf tournament to benefit the girl raised about 12,000 dollars, and several other individuals made private donations.
