New Jersey State Trooper charged with possession of child pornography
TRENTON (FOX 29) - A New Jersey State Trooper has been arrested and charged with possession of child pornography after receiving an explicit photo of a juvenile girl during a 2014 email exchange with a woman.
Trooper Jeffery Reitz, 47, was arrested on a third degree charge of child pornography, police say. Reitz has been suspended by the New Jersey State Police.
Police say Reitz and an unnamed woman had a sexually explicit email conversation in Dec. of 2014. During their conversation it is alleged that the woman suggested Reitz sexually assault a juvenile girl. After which police say Reitz asked for and received a sexually explicit photo of the girl.
Detectives only found out about the explicit email exchange as the result of a separate investigation.
The investigation is ongoing.
