Nurse serenades young cancer patient with song from 'Aladdin'

HOUSTON (WTXF)- The actions a male nurse took to brighten a young patient's day are going viral.

Sophia Torres, just four-years-old, was diagnosed with leukemia last May. Ever since her diagnosis, she has been spending much of her time at the Texas Children's Hospital.

According to KHOU, Sophia has had a number of surgeries in the last several months, and suffered a stroke which affected her speech sight, and walking ability.

Now, she is in need of a bone marrow transplant.

Along with care and support, the staff at the hospital also appears to be providing something else; smiles.

Take for example, this video of nurse Brandon Waterhouse serenading Sophia with a song from the Disney movie Aladdin, "A Whole New World."

The video was shared on Sophia's Facebook page called 'Sophia's Odyssey, and has been viewed more than 230,000 times in the last couple days.
