Officer shocked by live wires after 3-car crash in Deptford Township

A police officer in Deptford Township, New Jersey was injured after a three-car crash caused a pole to fall onto his cruiser Thursday morning.

The crash occurred around 4:00 a.m. Thursday morning on Delsea Drive near Route 41.

Police say a truck struck a power pole causing it to fall onto a police cruiser that was involved in the crash. One of the officers was then shocked by live wires from the pole after trying to re-enter his cruiser. The officer also suffered a laceration to his face due to airbag deployment.

The officer was taken to Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia to be treated. He is in stable condition, conscious, and alert. He is expected to be released later Thursdays morning.
