Officials: 12 DUI fugitives arrested in 'Operation Halloween Sweep'

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - A dozen people wanted for driving under the influence were arrested during an overnight raid , officials announced Wednesday.

The investigation, dubbed 'Operation Halloween Sweep," was conducted by the Philadelphia Sheriff's Office and Pennsylvania State Police.

Officials say more pedestrians are killed or injured on Halloween night than any other night.

In Pennsylvania, between 2012 and 2016, 23 percent of pedestrian fatalities on Halloween night involved an intoxicated driver, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
