Oil tanker overturns, bursts into flames on NJ Turnpike

An overturned oil tanker that burst into flames has left the NJ Turnpike at a standstill.

Officials say liquid asphalt was leaking from the tanker, but it is now contained. The fire has also been put out.

The accident occurred in Chesterfield, affecting two lanes of the inner roadway. The two lanes of the outer roadway remain open.

Officials confirm that the driver got out of the vehicle safely. No injuries have been reported.
