Philadelphia officer injured in Kensington shooting released from hospital

The Philadelphia police officer who was injured during a shooting Wednesday morning has been released from the hospital after being treated for his injuries.

Officer Paul Sulock, 31, was shot in the right leg after he and his partner came across a shooting while on patrol near G and Madison Streets.

As the officers drove toward the scene in their patrol car, two men had begun shooting at each other. When the officers attempted to intervene, the suspect fired his weapon again, striking Officer Sulock.

Officer Sulock and his partner continued to pursue the suspects, and both were eventually taken into custody.

Fellow officers then quickly rushed to Temple University where he was initially listed in stable condition and treated.

Officer Sulock is a 10-year veteran of the force and is married with four children.
