A grocery store worker went above and beyond to help a blind customer and the story of that touching moment is now going viral.
Spotted this touching sight while shopping at the neighborhood Kroger. This visually impaired gentleman was waiting for...
According to the Huffington Post, a woman witnessed Kroger supermarket employee Colin Coleman walk up to a man, who is blind, and helped him shop around the store.
The woman, Ashlee Fujawa, is the director of public relations for Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, an environmental conservation organization, according to the Huffington Post.
She took a picture of the Coleman and the customer and then posted it to the organization's Facebook page.
The post has since gone viral with more than 47,000 likes, 10,000 shares, and thousands of comments.
Fujawa emailed the Huffington Post, explaining the moment in detail through her eyes.
"Beyond [showing] the epitome of customer service, the moment captured shows a human experience, respect, and someone who simply asked if they could help," Fujawa, wrote to the Huffington Post.
According to the publication, Fujawa also discovered that Coleman had helped the blind customer in the past.
"Once I saw the number of 'likes' and then 'shares' jump to the thousands within a few short hours, I knew others felt the same way."
According to the post, Fujawa had been talking to the blind customer at the service desk when Coleman walked over to them from the parking lot. He had been collecting carts in the snow.
Fujawa then told the Huffington Post that the employee kindly introduced himself, and then the two went off to shop.
"Without missing a beat, the two set off to Sunday grocery shop together, with Colin guiding the cart and taking care to navigate the busy store as the two discussed his shopping list," Fujawa wrote in the post.
The store's general manager Andrew Fair told WISHTV.com that the employee always takes care of the customer's needs.
"It's something that he does all the time, not just yesterday," Fair said to the outlet. "But he's always taking care of the customer."
And Coleman was rewarded with a customer service award for his awesome deed.
