Police: Human body found burning in North Philadelphia

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Police in North Philadelphia are investigating the discovery of a burned human body Friday afternoon.

Officers responded to the scene on the 1700 block of West Allegheny around 10:43 a.m.

Police responded to a call for a fire in an empty lot. When the fire was extinguished, investigators discovered the object to be charred human remains.

The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
