Police ID victim in Southwest Philly homicide; Suspect sought

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Police are investigating following a deadly overnight shooting in Southwest Philadelphia.

When officers responded to the 2200 block of 71st Street just after 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, they found a man lying face down in the street surrounded by several shell casings.

Police later identified the victim as 25-year-old Jason Roberts of Lansdale, Pa.

Police are hoping surveillance video will help them catch the person responsible. They say a semi-automatic weapon appears to have been used in the shooting.
