Police in Montgomery County crackdown on aggressive driving
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Pa. (FOX 29) - Police in Montgomery County are cracking down on aggressive drivers. You may not see them, but they are there waiting to write you a ticket.
From texting to tailgating, from swerving to speeding, you have seen aggressive drivers or you may actually be one yourself.
In King of Prussia on Monday, it was the start of a six-week statewide crackdown of aggressive driving.
FOX 29 was rolling when more than a dozen drivers got pulled over and ticketed along Route 202.
Upper Merion police were among dozens of other Philly area departments trying to reduce crashes and traffic deaths on state highways.
So what is aggressive driving?
"Speeding, texting and driving, failure to signal, speeding through work zones or bus stops," Upper Merion Township Police Lt. Jeff Maurer said.
Police in 64 Philly area jurisdictions are taking part. Last year, more than 50,000 tickets were issued during the crackdown.
