Police in Wissinoming arrest 3 found cutting carpet with body inside

A grim discovery in Philadelphia's Wissinoming section, as two men and a woman are in custody in connection with a grisly murder.

Neighbors describe a shocking scene. A man's body discovered in a basement, wrapped in carpet. They say police were just at the house recently.

Witnesses say several people lived in the home in the 4000 block of Higbee Street. When the landlord showed up for the rent Saturday, he knew something wasn't right, according to Marisel Figueroa.

"I guess the landlord kind of peeked in the house. When he peeked in the house, he saw there was a piece of carpet missing. So, he asked, 'What's going on with the piece of carpet?'" Figueroa said.

The next thing she knew, police showed up.

"They start asking questions and people are kinda like a little nervous. The cops tell them to stay outside. They go in the house, and as soon as they come out, they're like, 'Get on the floor! Get on the floor'" Figueroa added.

Police confirming, in the basement, they found a blood-soaked carpet with a man wrapped inside. Sources tell Fox 29 the victim was stabbed. No weapon has been found.

Neighbors aren't sure exactly how many people live there, but know there have been issues.

"They're always arguing," said Milagros Torres.

Two men and a woman were found in the house when the police got there. They're now in custody, being questioned, as police try to determine what happened and who the victim is.
