Police: Man shot after refusal to purchase "Molly" in Center City

Philadelphia Police are investigating a shooting that sent one man to the hospital in Center City early Saturday morning.

The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. at Locust and Juniper Streets .

According to police, the 26-year-old victim was approached by two unknown men who asked him if he wanted to purchase "Molly," and the victim declined. When he declined, the suspects gave the victim a sample of the drug, which police say he ingested.

The victim then once again declined to purchase the narcotics, and police say he was then punched in the face by one of the suspects, and both men then walked away.

The victim later confronted the two suspects at near the 200 block of South Juniper Street, and tells police he heard a loud bang an began to walk away before realizing he had been shot in the left leg.

The victim was transported to Jefferson Hospital where he was placed in stable condition.

No arrests have been made at this time.
