Police: Serial shoplifter arrested for sixth time in 6 days in Atlantic City
ATLANTIC CITY (FOX 29) - Police have arrested a man who they say is responsible for multiple thefts in stores around Atlantic City.
Authorities say Jason Reiner, 43, was arrested on Thursday for the sixth time in the last six days, and a fourth time within the last four days.
Reiner was spotted by officers running away from Tanger Outlets carrying a purse. Police pursued Reiner and arrested him on the corner of Georgia Street and Arctic Avenue. It was discovered that Reiner had stolen the purse from the Coach Outlet.
Earlier in the day officers caught Reiner stealing sunglasses from the Sunglass Hut.
Reiner's spree of failed shoplifting endeavors began on Mar. 10, when he was spotted trying to steal an I-Robot vacuum from Harrah's Hotel and Casino. Since then, Reiner was caught attempting to lift merchandise from the Michael Kors Outlet and the Hard Rock Casino.
Reiner was charged with multiple counts of shoplifting and defiant trespassing. He is being help in Atlantic County Justice Facility.
