Police: Woman charged with aggravated assault on officer at NJ tavern
FRANKLIN, N.J. (FOX 29) - Police have arrested a woman who they say assaulted an officer at a New Jersey tavern.
The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. when officers responded to a reported domestic dispute at Brick and Brew in Franklin Borough on Thursday.
According to police, 38-year-old Danielle Kapetanakis, of Hamburg, became "extremely aggressive" as patrol intervened in the dispute, "engaging in fighting, threatening and violent behavior."
Police say Kapetanakis attempted to physically attack the male with whom she was arguing and, when a detective tried to intervene, purposely struck the detective in his eye with her elbow.
The detective was treated by the Wallkill Valley First Aid Squad and refused further medical treatment.
Kapetanakis was detained and charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and simple assault on the male with whom she was initially engaged in a dispute.
