Robbery victim shot in face after refusing to give up phone in Germantown

A 28-year-old man is recovering after being shot in the face during a robbery in Germantown.

Police say the victim was robbed around 11:30 p.m. on Pulaski Avenue.

The victim told police he gave the suspects $120 in cash. Police say the victim refused to give up his phone, which led to a fight and him being shot.

He was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition.

"If somebody has a deadly weapon--a gun--you should not resist. You shouldn't fight just give them what they want to avoid being injured," Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

Residents were concerned the two men were the same two who two weeks ago shot another man, but police say the two incidents are not related.

No arrests have been made at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.
